Typography Mind Map

Currently my design is going quite well: I have almost finished making each word (all I have left is one negative space). I have used Sans Serif, blocky writing and adapted it to mould around some of the words. I have made smaller to bigger words and vice-versa and I have made a lot of positive and negative spaces between the words. I have let words spill out the page and no words touch. I also, for example, made Bold in bold lettering and Italic in italic lettering. I will start to outline it with a pen and start to make it darker. What I think I can improve is that I would like to change the style of some of the words because some of the styles are too similar and are quite similar in size.

His work is a mixture of art in all forms which link to the typography as well as contrasting it. They try and convey a meaning together to emphasise the main point of the piece. Some of them are very colourful but others are monotonic however they are all very interesting to look at.
From his work I think I will try to take the way that each word flows around another to make it seem less confusing and so that the words are more distinct from one another. I will try and leave gaps between words so that the work is less cluttered.
Mid-Way Review

Currently my design is going quite well: I have almost finished making each word (all I have left is one negative space). I have left space between every letter so that it doesn’t look messy. I will start to outline it with a pen and start to make it darker. What I think I can improve is that I would like to change the style of some of the words because some of the styles are too similar and are quite similar in size. So, I will change the size then I will change the style and spacing of some of the letters.
Typography Mind Map Finished Review

This is a typography mind map using words linked to typography. I thin the letters look good and are quite smooth. I used interesting lines and shapes and made some of the letters flow around each other. The shapes are freeform and flow, they shrink and grow to fit around each other and I used light and darker areas in contrast to each other. Some of them a just outlined and some are coloured in, however I would have liked to do inverted but didn’t have the time for most. The layout is balanced and the words spill off the page, no word is used twice so that it doesn’t get repetitive. There are positive and negative spaces. I tended to use only sans serif but I did adjust some of the words such as making the word “bold” bold and italicising the word “italic”. Each word aligns to the words around it, flowing. I learned a lot of different words linking to typography and how to make a mind map into art form, I also developed my use of freehand drawing. Next time, I would make negative space between every positive space word as well as doing more inverted-coloured words.
